Ranada Pritchett

Drug and Alcohol Counseling

Ranada Pritchett knew it was important to enroll at Delaware Tech because she wanted to be the first on her mother’s side of the family to complete college and receive her degree. As a drug and alcohol counseling major, she wanted a career that was meaningful and helped the people within her community.

“I decided on my major because addiction has personally touched my life and the lives of people that I know,”她说。. “It’s important to me to make a difference for those who struggle with addiction.”

Although working toward her degree has been an ultimately rewarding process, Pritchett works full-time while juggling being a mother to two small children. She has overcome her own issues with addiction and is proud to be in recovery for four years now.

Pritchett has worked through these obstacles and has come out the other side as a stronger and more positive person. “My outlook on life has changed for the better and I’m excited about the future!”

Her advice for other students that are looking to enhance their experience at Delaware Tech is to always remember to study hard, 保持专注, and to reach their goals.

Her favorite memories from her time spent at Delaware Tech has been the moments of overwhelming support she has received from the College’s faculty, 工作人员, and other students.

After graduation, Pritchett plans to further her education while working in the drug and alcohol counseling field. Her dream career is to be a clinical psychologist.
